Highlights from FirstGen Talent – HR Conclave 2025 : Becoming the Engineers the World Wants to Hire

In today’s fast-paced world, professionals are often absorbed in personal and work priorities, leaving little time to contribute to educational institutions. Yet, when they do, the impact can be transformative—because education remains one of the most powerful tools to shape lives, communities, and the future.
Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (VCTN) had the incredible privilege of hosting eight distinguished HR leaders from Hyderabad and Pune, who spent an entire day mentoring our students and guiding them on how to prepare for the professional world. Their shared goal was clear: to make a real difference in the lives of students.
Guiding Students from Campus to Corporate

Bhanu Prakash from New Eagle inspired students with practical insights on transitioning from campus to corporate success. From planning the event to actively engaging with students, Bhanu’s energy and guidance helped students overcome inhibitions. His passion for Electrical and Mechanical Engineering was evident—not just in his student interactions, but also in providing faculty suggestions for more hands-on learning. Even post-session, Bhanu continued to mentor students through LinkedIn, amplifying the impact of his visit.
Purpose-Driven Careers and Sustainable Leadership

Dr. Md Abdula Rasheed from Organo Eco Habitats delivered a session on building purpose-driven careers and fostering sustainable leadership. He walked students through placement-ready skills and essential qualities of future leaders. In a remarkable gesture, Dr. Rasheed offered to mentor 15 students, providing an invaluable opportunity for engineering students to learn from a leader with over two decades of experience.
Unlocking Potential Through HR Innovation

Ganesh Somisetti from Capitech Solutions encouraged students to reflect on the qualities and skill sets required for the 21st-century workforce. His real-time examples and actionable insights helped students and faculty understand how present actions influence future outcomes.
Mastering Interviews and Preparing for Tomorrow

Lavanya Valluri from TAO Digital Solutions and Ridhima Rao from Veritas Prime Labs focused on the foundational skills needed for success: aptitude, verbal reasoning, communication, and personal branding. Through mock interviews and practical tips, students gained valuable exposure to real-world placement expectations.

Career Building and Emerging Industry Trends

Shivprasad M L N from Devfi shared strategies to thrive in both manufacturing and IT sectors, emphasizing the relevance of AI tools and the importance of crafting professional resumes that highlight key skills.

Solomon Devavaram from CriticalRiver Inc. stressed adaptability and upskilling in alignment with industry evolution. He encouraged students to pursue curiosity-driven projects that reflect genuine interest, reminding them that career success is rooted in job satisfaction, not just salary.

Smita Narkar from Infinite Uptime highlighted the power of continuous learning. She emphasized that even 10 minutes of daily reading on industry trends can shift a student’s career trajectory. Her insights on recognizing skill gaps and turning them into strengths resonated deeply with the students.
A Lasting Impact

The guidance and mentorship provided by these industry leaders will ripple through our students’ learning journeys for years to come. They didn’t just visit—they left footprints, ignited conversations, and opened doors to new opportunities.
Sometimes, what educational institutions need most isn’t high-end infrastructure—it’s the time, experience, and mentorship of professionals. These eight HR leaders are true torchbearers, lighting the way for students to meet and exceed industry expectations.
On behalf of the management, faculty, and students of Vikas College of Engineering & Technology, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all the HR leaders for making the FirstGen Talent – HR Conclave 2025 a deeply impactful and unforgettable experience.
