Dr. B. Ramana

Dr. B. Ramana has served as the esteemed Principal of Vikas College of Engineering & Technology for over a decade. His leadership is characterized by a calm and composed demeanor, even in challenging situations. This exemplary quality, coupled with his exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, fosters a thriving college community.

Dr. Ramana holds a M.B.A from Dr.BRAOU, M.Tech degree from the renowned Banaras Hindu University (now IIT Varanasi) and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Andhra University. Prior to joining Vikas College, he honed his teaching and leadership skills at reputed institutes like V.R Sidhartha Engineering College, LBRC and N.V.R College with an overall 30+ years of experience in academia. He has published several research papers in international and national journals as well.

Dean of Academics

Dr. S. Sevugarajan

Dr. S. Sevugarajan brings a wealth of academic expertise and research experience to his role as Dean of Academics at Vikas College of Engineering and Technology. His educational journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Material Science from Anna University, followed by an MSc(Engg) in Instrumentation Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and a Ph.D. in the same field. Dr. Sevugarajan’s commitment to research was further demonstrated through his postdoctoral fellowship at Indiana University, USA, and his research associateship at Vanderbilt University, USA. There, he designed a high-resolution mass spectrometer for biomolecular analysis, marking nearly 7 years of postdoctoral research in US universities.

Dr. Sevugarajan’s career trajectory showcases a commitment to both academic leadership and cutting-edge research. He has held prestigious positions at Acharya Institute of Technology and AAA College of Engineering and Technology, where he not only spearheaded departmental growth but also played a pivotal role in securing NAAC, NBA, and ISO certifications. His passion for fostering innovation extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by his students’ recent first-place win at the state-level “Technoverse-2023” hackathon. Dr. Sevugarajan’s current research interests focus on telepresence robots, unmanned aerial vehicles, and the application of AI and Deep Learning in agriculture and healthcare.

Controller of Exams

Dr. M. Surendra Kumar

Dr. M. Surendra Kumar brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as Controller of Examinations at Vikas College of Engineering & Technology. With a distinguished academic career spanning over 25 years, Dr. Kumar possesses a deep understanding of administrative processes, particularly those related to examinations and academics. However, his expertise lies primarily in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

His impressive educational background includes a Ph.D. in Antenna Arrays and an M.Tech. in Radar & Microwave Engineering, both from Andhra University. Throughout his career, Dr. Kumar has held prestigious positions at several institutions, including Professor & Principal at KLR College of Engineering & Technology and Chaitanya Engineering College.

Dr. Kumar is a prolific researcher and has published extensively in international journals and conference proceedings. His areas of specialization include Antenna Arrays, Radar Engineering, and Microwave Communication. He has also actively guided Ph.D. scholars in the field of Antenna Arrays.
