Events & Industry Visits at Vikas
Vikas College of Engineering & Technology, learning extends beyond textbooks. We regularly host technical workshops, hackathons, cultural fests, alumni meets, and career fairs to nurture student talent and build leadership qualities. To complement classroom learning, we also organize industrial visits to reputed companies, giving students valuable exposure to real-world practices, technologies, and work environments. These experiences bridge the gap between theory and practice, preparing students for future careers.



Department Of Electronics & Communication Engineering
The ECE Department at Vikas College regularly organizes industrial visits to top companies in telecom, embedded systems, and electronics, giving students valuable industry exposure. Alongside, the department conducts workshops, guest lectures, and technical events like circuit design contests and IoT hackathons to boost practical skills and innovation. These activities bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications.
1. IETE Students’ Forum Inauguration & Workshop
Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) inaugurated the IETE Students’ Forum on 8th February 2025 with a one-day technical workshop for B.Tech students. The event featured sessions on 5G, IoT, Ethical Hacking, and Industrial IoT, along with tech quizzes, project showcases, and group discussions.Key speakers included Dr. B. Surya Prasada Rao, Mr. N. Keerthi, and Dr. Shaik Riyazuddien, who shared insights on emerging technologies and career readiness. Students gained hands-on experience, explored real-world applications, and learned the value of professional societies in shaping their future in electronics and telecommunication.
2. Seminar on Recent Trends in Digital Broadcasting
Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) organized an insightful seminar on Recent Trends in Digital Broadcasting on 22nd February 2025 at the college Seminar Hall. The event, conducted by the Department of ECE and coordinated by Mr. Suresh Gajula (Assistant Professor, ECE), featured Dr. Kalee Prasad Pammi from Doordarshan, Vijayawada, as the keynote speaker.The seminar covered a range of advanced topics including digital TV systems, encoding and multiplexing techniques, core communication elements, and various transmission modes such as SCPC, MCPC, TDMA, FDMA, and CDMA. Students also gained insights into emerging technologies like 5G broadcasting, OTT streaming, and satellite communication systems.With active participation from students and an engaging Q&A session, the seminar provided valuable exposure to the evolving landscape of digital broadcasting. Special thanks to Dr. Kalee Prasad Pammi for delivering such a dynamic and forward-looking session.
2. Two-Days Workshop on Raspberry Pi
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) successfully organized a two-day workshop on Raspberry Pi held on February 21–22, 2025. The workshop was led by Mr. P. Ashok Chakravarthy from SRC E Solutions, providing students with hands-on experience in IoT applications, sensor interfacing, and home automation.This interactive session enabled participants to dive deep into the world of embedded systems, fostering practical skills and innovation. The workshop served as a strong foundation for students interested in real-time applications of Raspberry Pi in modern technology.
3. Industrial Visit to South Central Railway – Vijayawada Junction
On March 11, 2025, students from the Departments of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) participated in an insightful industrial visit to South Central Railway, Vijayawada Junction. The visit focused on understanding the Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) system, a critical technology used to ensure safe and efficient train operations.
Students gained hands-on exposure to:
Real-time train route monitoring and signal management
Electronic interlocking systems designed to prevent route conflicts
Relay panels, point machines, and signaling equipment
Fail-safe operations and manual override procedures
This experience deepened their understanding of how modern communication and control systems are seamlessly integrated into railway safety infrastructure. Special thanks to Mr. Samson, Project Manager at South Central Railway, for his expert guidance and support throughout the visit.
Department Of Agriculture
The Agricultural Engineering Department at Vikas College arranges industrial visits to farms, agri-tech companies, and research institutes to provide hands-on exposure to modern farming practices and technologies. The department also conducts workshops, expert talks, and seminars on topics like sustainable agriculture, irrigation systems, and farm machinery, helping students gain practical knowledge and industry insights.
1. Visit to Krishna Sudha Academy for Agroecology
Students of Agricultural Engineering (B.Tech & Diploma) at Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) recently participated in a hands-on learning experience at Krishna Sudha Academy for Agroecology in Nuzvid. The visit provided practical insights into organic farming, soil health, intercropping models, and bio-fertilizer production. Students also explored sustainable practices such as drip irrigation, agroforestry, and high-density mango farming, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of ecological agriculture. This immersive experience enriched their academic knowledge and reinforced their commitment to sustainable farming practices.
Department Of Civil Engineering
The Civil Engineering Department at Vikas College organizes regular industrial visits to construction sites, dams, highways, and infrastructure projects to give students real-time exposure to engineering practices. The department also hosts technical seminars, workshops, and model-making competitions, enhancing students’ practical skills and understanding of modern construction techniques.
1. Industrial Visit to Iconic Towers, Amaravati
On 1st February 2025, 50 Civil Engineering students from I-II, II-II, and III-II years at Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous), along with faculty members, visited the Iconic Towers mega project in Amaravati, Guntur District.During the visit, students toured the construction site of a 40-storey skyscraper and gained practical knowledge on Raft Foundation techniques, M40+ grade concrete, seismic-resistant systems, and aluminum formwork. They also observed the use of advanced tools such as tower cranes, hydraulic jacks, and BIM software. A safety session covered PPE, scaffolding, and emergency protocols.This field visit offered valuable insights into large-scale infrastructure development and real-time civil engineering practices.
2. Guest Lecture on Construction Practices & Quality Control
On 24th February 2025, Civil Engineering students at Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) attended an insightful guest lecture by Mr. P. Vijay Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer, Water Resources Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.The session, titled “Good Practices in Construction & Quality Control,” covered essential topics such as quality assurance in public infrastructure, construction protocols, material testing, IS code compliance, and real-world insights from large-scale irrigation projects.This lecture provided a valuable industry perspective, enhancing students’ understanding of practical challenges and standards in civil engineering.
3. Industrial Visit to Polavaram & Pattiseema Irrigation Projects
On March 3rd, 2025, Civil and ECE students from Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) visited the Polavaram and Pattiseema irrigation projects, gaining valuable exposure to large-scale infrastructure in action.At Polavaram, students explored key features such as the spillway, diaphragm wall, coffer dams, and the massive Earth-cum-Rockfill Dam, learning about construction techniques, water storage, and discharge systems.
At Pattiseema, they observed the Lift Irrigation System and turbine operations, understanding how engineering facilitates river interlinking.These visits offered real-world insights that enriched classroom learning and inspired innovation in the fields of civil and electrical engineering.
Department Of Mechanical Engineering
The Mechanical Engineering Department at Vikas College conducts industrial visits to manufacturing units, thermal power plants, and automotive industries to provide students with hands-on experience in engineering applications. The department also organizes workshops, technical fests, and guest lectures on topics like CAD/CAM, robotics, and automation, fostering innovation and industry readiness among students.
1. Industrial Visit to CIPET, Surampalli
On 20th February 2025, II B.Tech Mechanical and Agricultural Engineering students from Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) visited the Central Institute of Petro-chemical Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Surampalli.

2. Industrial Visit to G.S. Alloys Castings Ltd., Surampalli
II B.Tech Mechanical Engineering students from Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) visited G.S. Alloys Castings Ltd., Surampalli for an enriching industrial tour.
During the visit, students observed key industrial operations including:

Sodium Silicate CO₂ Molding
Surface Cleaning, Machining & Heat Treatment
Guided by experienced supervisors, the students gained hands-on exposure to advanced machinery and industrial processes. This visit provided practical insights into manufacturing concepts, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.
Department Of Science & Humanities
The Science & Humanities Department at Vikas College plays a key role in building a strong academic foundation. It organizes orientation programs, motivational talks, soft skills workshops, and science exhibitions to enhance communication, critical thinking, and overall student development. These activities help first-year students transition smoothly into their engineering journey.
1. Industrial Visit to Coca-Cola Plant, Guntur
From April 10–13, 2025, 300 students and 12 faculty members from the Science & Humanities Department at Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) visited the Coca-Cola Plant in Tenali-Mangalagiri Bypass, Guntur.During the visit, students explored beverage manufacturing operations, cutting-edge production machinery, quality control systems, and sustainability practices. This hands-on experience offered valuable insights into global industry operations and innovation.
Department Of MBA
The MBA Department at Vikas College arranges industrial visits to corporate offices, financial institutions, and startups to expose students to real-time business operations. Regular seminars, management games, guest lectures, and entrepreneurship workshops are organized to develop leadership, strategic thinking, and managerial skills, preparing students for the dynamic business world.
1. Industrial Visit to Kusalava International Ltd.
On 24th March 2025, MBA students from Vikas College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous) visited Kusalava International Ltd., gaining valuable insights into corporate operations.During the visit, the Finance Division shared key practices in budgeting, cost control, and financial planning, while the HR Manager discussed recruitment strategies and employee welfare policies. This hands-on experience provided students with a deeper understanding of corporate frameworks and industry expectations.
